Cider

Saturday afternoon, March 8, Sheriff Dave Wright and Deputy Robinet (from Durant) went to Caddo and arrested Mac Johnson and brought him to this city, where he made bond for violating the prohibition law. It is charged that Johnson had been selling cider with a severe “kick” in it, and that it would make the drinker intoxicated. In fact a man was placed in jail Thursday for being drunk on the cider. Sheriff Wright also confiscated the cider, which consisted of two sixteen gallon kegs, five gallons in another keg, and over one hundred bottles ready for sale. The price of the cider was $1.00 per bottle.
