Socialists as Obstructors
Sentiment in the legislature is almost unanimous to stand by the governor in his plans for economy. Many Republicans even, are outspoken in this determination. The socialist members alone are maintaining an organized attitude of obstruction and petty bickering. A growing intolerance is manifest around the capitol of the socialist members who are frequently loud and vulgar in their claims of “having the farmers going”. They are given to boasting of the fact that Oklahoma is the only state in the union, or country on the globe where farmers will even entertain socialism as a class, and they lay this to their own ability as politicians, boasting that they have changed the real policy of socialism just to get the farmer’s vote, then forget him when they get in office.
