Old Caddoite Here
Editor Hunter of The Sherman Daily Democrat was a visitor between trains Sunday.
Mr. Hunter was a former citizen of Caddo, coming to Caddo 39 years ago, when he established the Caddo Star, at that time the only English paper in what is now Oklahoma. He found only one or two buildings here that were here then. Everything had changed he said, even the folks of the town. He met a few of the older citizens, men who were in Caddo in 1875, they being C.A. Hancock and F.W. Grayson.
It is a pleasure to hear a party of these older men talking, living again the days of their youth, recounting the difficult times and accomplishments. They can see a great change in Caddo, even if her present citizens cannot.
Mr. Hunter states that when he was here all the freight for Fort Sill came through Caddo, and that wagon trains were an event.
