Well, this was a great rodeo weekend in Caddo! The Caddo Roundup Club had a successful parade and rodeo and The Town Restoration Association served a wonderful lunch at the first annual Buffalo Trail Barbeque! Thanks to the combined efforts of several groups and individuals TRAC managed to feed and entertain over 300 people! I haven’t heard the official count yet, but I know there were at least 275 lunches served and a lot of people just came to visit, play games, and listen to the music. The following businesses and organizations deserve a big pat on the back for their participation and donations:
The Caddo Community Association
The Civic and Cemetery Club
Shamrock Bank
Caddo Fire Department
Caddo Police Department
Craighead’s
Masons
REX II Theater
Caddo Livestock Auction
The Caddo Short Stop
The Superette
Caddo Dairy Queen
C & H Truck Stop
Caddo Opry
Please, please let me know if I left out anyone and I will be more than happy to add their name. There were also individuals who donated their time and effort to help clean, move tables and chairs, provide hay bales, set up the bandstand, cook the meat, serve food, make cakes, play games with the children, and transport food to shut-ins. I can’t even begin to list everyone who participated in making this a success and in raising enough money for TRAC to continue their efforts to improve Caddo. This is the kind of event that truly brings out the best in people!
I also want to thank Stacy Cramer from the Oklahoma Department of Commerce for taking time out of her busy schedule to join us.
Remember, Caddo’s next big event will be Heritage Day, Saturday, October 7.
