Fire has been a topic of conversation in this area for weeks. I can't imagine voluntarily getting anywhere near a major fire, so I have great respect for those who work so hard to protect the families and property of our county. That's why I'm giving a little space to an advertisement:
The Caddo Community Association will be hosting a fund raiser for the Caddo Volunteer Fire Department on Monday, January 23, at 6pm in the Boland Park Community Building. Refreshments will be served. At 7pm there will be a pie and cake auction. All proceeds and donations from the evening will go to the fire department. They lost a fire truck in one of the recent fires, and have also incurred extra expenses due to the number of blazes in the area. These brave men volunteer their time and risk their lives for the protection of their community. Let’s show them our support!
If you are unable to attend you may also make a donation directly to the fire department or to Shamrock Bank in Caddo. Fire chief Todd Miller may be contacted at 580-367-9811.
